Kashmir Tour - The state of Jammu
and Kashmir stretches between 32.17o to 36.58o
North and the altitude rises steeply from 305
metres to 6910 metres above sea level. There are
the hot plains of the Jammu Province and coldest

weather conditions at different places because of

moisture-laden from entering the valleys.In
summers, the outer plains and the outer hills
receive rainfall from monsoon winds while in
winters, winds from the Mediterranean cause
snowfall and rainfall in the Valley of Kashmir.
According to historians, the ancestors of
Kashmiris are early immigrants from India proper.
With the spread of Buddhism, many scholars came to
Kashmir from far-off lands for research and study.
The contact of Kashmiris with the Roman, Greek and
Persian civilizations resulted into a fusion of

Kashmir Tour India - The
state of Jammu and Kashmir became part of
independent India on August 15, 1947, when the
Maharaja of Kashmir, Hari Singh, decide to accede
to India. The newly formed nation of Pakistan,
however, sent in its army to capture the state.
The Pakistani army illegally occupied almost 1/3
rd of the state. When the then Prime Minister of
India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, took the matter to
the United Nations, it issued an order for
plebiscite in the region, provided Pakistan
withdrew it army from the region. Since Pakistan
did not withdraw the army, the plebiscite was
never held, leading to strife and wars between the
two neighboring countries over the decades.
However, with peace and normalcy returning to the
Valley, the state has been opened up for tourism -

Kashmir Tour - The Happy Valley,
Super Switzerland of Asia, Mughal Emperor's dream
garden and Emerald amongst the white pearls of the
Himalaya are only a few of the many appellations
given to the valley of Kashmir, over the
countries. The Mughal king Jahangir, moved to such
an ecstasy by the beauty of Kashmir exclaimed, "if
there is a Paradise on earth, it is here, it is
here, it is here". He was doubtlessly, enthralled
by the valley's lust greenery, its abundance of
flowers and fruits, its shimmering springs and
translucent lakes. Unlike the other Himalayan
regions, Kashmir has been traveler's paradise and
holiday resort for a long time, probably one of
the oldest on the earth. Nestling in the lap of
the dazzling snow-capped Himalayas, the Kashmir
valley is undoubtedly a jewel in India's crown. An

Kashmir Tour India - Founded in the 6th century and beautifully located around a number of lakes, Srinagar the 'Beautiful City' is divided in two by the Jhelum River, which is crossed by a number of bridges. The lush greenery of the valley with its terraced rice fields, fruit orchards and swirling waterways spills into the city via the Dal Lake and the great avenues of the popular Chinar trees. It is a city with a distinctly Central Asian flavour. The old city is in the vicinity of the Hari Parbat Hill and includes the labyrinth of alleyways, mosques and houses that constitute the commercial heart of the city. The more modern part of the city is farther up the Jhelum River, above its famous seven bridges. This fresh natural atmosphere combined with the commercial clamor of the old city's twisting medieval streets gives Srinagar a distinctive and vitalizing flavour. Walking down the roads you will see the half- timbered houses and brick churches surrounded by magnolia trees in the garden - Kashmir Tour 2009.
